Brake systems are safety-critical, which makes them one of the most commonly over-recommended repair areas in workshops. However, not every noise or vibration means full replacement.
In many cases, only one component (like pads) is worn — not the entire system.
Brake pads wear down naturally. Replacement is required when thickness drops below safe limits (often 2–3 mm).
Discs may need replacement if they are warped, deeply scored, or below minimum thickness. Not all pad replacements require new discs.
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and should typically be replaced every 2–3 years depending on manufacturer guidelines.
ABS warnings are often sensor-related rather than full system failure. Diagnosis requires scanning, not guessing.
Brake systems should be evaluated component by component. Replacing everything together is often unnecessary unless multiple failures are confirmed.
